Orthodontic treatment has become significantly more important in recent years, particularly in Asia, for correcting jaw deformities. In addition to aesthetic aspects, the functional normalisation of the masticatory system is becoming increasingly important in order to avoid subsequent incorrect loading of teeth and particularly in the temporomandibular joint area.
For these reasons, the course comprehensively covers the normal facial growth, development of deformities, the importance of TMJ and their early treatment options with pediatric functional orthodontics. You will learn all aspects of Orthodontic treatment from diagnostics, planning, orthodontic treatment with functional European appliances and their impact on aesthetics.
The essential know-how is conveyed through didactically prepared teaching content in self-study, live lectures by internationally renowned professors and practical exercises.
The International Medical College has extensive experience with the blended learning concept in teaching and online knowledge transfer combined with practical training with more than 2.000 successful graduates from over 40 nations since 2003.
This is complemented by internationally renowned professors and the cooperation with international respected Universities.
In order to deepen the knowledge and the possibilities in Orthodontic treatment there are two options for orthodontic training and qualification:
Successful completion of course “Orthodontic Principles and Clinical Skills Training Program” enables enrolment in the University Master's Programme, Master of Science in Specialized Orthodontics provided that the relevant requirements are met. Afterwards, the module with supervised treatment cases can be completed, so that a 3-year orthodontic training course corresponding to specialist medical training has been completed.
The Master Degree will be issued by the International Medical College, Deutsche Chirurgiestiftung (German Surgery Foundation) and Dresden University of Technology (Germany)
If these requirements for a Master's Degree are not met, it is possible to complete the Modul Functional (Pediatric) Orthodontic treatment in Children and Adolescents and the Modul Treatment with fixed appliances and afterward the module with supervised treatment cases. This constitutes a complete training programme, but without a university master's degree.
The Certificate Advanced Orthodontic Treatment will be issued by the International Medical College and Deutsche Chirurgiestiftung (German Surgery Foundation).
