The accreditation agencies carry out the accreditation of individual study programmes on behalf of the Accreditation Council. The IMC Master's degree programmes were successfully accredited for the first time in 2004 by the accreditation agency AQAS as the first dental/medical institution and were assessed as exemplary. Re-accreditation took place in 2009 and in February 2013 accreditation as an international joint degree together with the universities of Dresden, Essen/Duisburg, Leipzig, Saarland and Szeged (Hungary).

In 2019, successful accreditation and reaccreditation of the degree programmes at the University of Duisburg-Essen took place:

The IMC Master's programs will be offered by the Technical University of Dresden (TUD) starting in April 2026. TUD will then be the degree-awarding university. Accreditation will again be carried out by the accreditation agency AQAS.
